A sketchbook bound in a Japanese classic four-hole stab binding. I like the twist in the design, this is an extraordinarily oblong format!
Each leaf of the book consists of a folded paper. The “open” side of the folded sheet was bound into the book block while the closed edge is outside. To support the oblong format I created a slipcase to snugly fit the book inside.
The book including the slipcase was purchased by Caroline le Meur, a French paper poetry artist living in Morocco. I wrote a blog about how the book inspired her to create amazing pop up art. To my delight she loves working with the book. Read more in the blog here.
